I personally did not travel at Christmas time when I was young. Everyone always came to my grandparents home where my Mom, brother and I lived. I did not start traveling (not really travel, but a drive) until we were married. We did not have to go far though.
My Aunt and Uncle from West Virginia are the ones who did the traveling. They were up every Christmas. I remember when year when we were all younger, that we waited and waited and waited for them to get here on Christmas Eve. They got very slowed down because of a snow storm. They did make it by Christmas Day. It was never the same without them there. She still travels up here from West Virginia, but not at Christmas anymore.
